Proud of its Venetian heritage and bilingual Slovenian-Italian traditions, Piran celebrates its musical legacy every summer during the Tartini International Classical Music Festival in the Franciscan monastery cloister, alongside the Salt Festival and the Ex-tempore painting competition.

At seaside tables along the promenade, Istrian coastal dining features whole sea bass baked in Piran sea salt crust, stuffed Adriatic squid, cuttlefish black risotto, and handmade fuži pasta with Istrian truffles, finished with local extra-virgin olive oil and a glass of Malvazija white or Refošk red wine.
